A Hooters location on the River Walk has joined a string of closures from the restaurant chain.

A San Antonio Hooters restaurant is one of over a dozen Texas locations to shut its doors in a recent string of closures from the chain. As Hooters announced shutdowns, the River Walk location was removed from the chain's website, and a call to the location went to a pre-recorded message that the location is closed permanently.

'This year has definitely been the slowest and hardest year of them all,' Michelle Vasquez wrote on Facebook. Hooters did not specify how many locations would shut down, but USA Today reported that 17 Texas restaurants had closed in cities like Laredo, McAllen, Galveston and Fort Worth. Two other San Antonio stores — at 8527 Wurzbach Road on the Northwest Side and 9802 Ingram Road on the West Side — are still open.
