The district sent out a letter to families of students at Lanier High School informing them of an investigation into a reported inappropriate relationship between a staff member and a student. The district says that the staff member is no longer on campus and SAISD is cooperating with the police department. They will report all findings to the Texas Education Agency.
The district is also communicating personally and privately with the student and the student’s family involved in the incident to ensure they receive the support and care they need. “The physical and emotional safety of our students is our utmost priority, and we will always act to protect those in our care. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this very challenging time,” Principal Dr. Rick Flores of Lanier High School said in a statement.
