The House is ready to vote on a $105 billion plan to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration , which includes several changes including safety improvements. Leaders are working to get San Antonio on the list of direct flights to D.C.
Part of the bill adds flights in and out of Ronald Reagan Airport in Washington, D.C. Lawmakers on both sides of the political aisle representing San Antonio have been working to make sure this military-heavy city is on the list. "I'm voting for a bill that I'm not that fond of," said Representative Roy. "It spends a little more than I prefer - and has policies in it that aren't my favorite, but sometimes you have to work together to get it done and that's what we did here."
"San Antonio’s congressional delegation has also worked hard to open the door for direct flights from San Antonio to our nation’s capital, and I’m glad to see that progress come through after years of bipartisan work," he says.
