San Antonio Missions swept a home-and-away series against Corpus Christi last week
Against Corpus Christi , it didn’t matter where the game was played — the Missions were winning regardless. San Antonio won all five games of last week's shortened series, three in Corpus Christi and two in San Antonio . The only thing to slow down the Missions was the weather. The sixth game scheduled for Saturday was called off because of rain with no makeup date set. San Antonio outscored the Hooks 20-5 in the three games in Corpus between last Monday and Wednesday.
” The Missions hit six home runs and scored 32 runs in the five games against the Hooks. San Antonio’s starting pitching staff went 3-0 with a 1.33 ERA and 20 strikeouts, while the relievers were 2-0 with a 0.73 ERA and 27 strikeouts against the Hooks. That combination of hitting and pitching has helped San Antonio climb to the top of the Texas League South Division second-half standings with a 9-2 record.
