"What do you do?" says Palm Heights Neighborhood Association Vice President, Maria Cruz, "I mean, there's so many things that the city can and can't do. So you just try and keep what they they will plan for.
SAN ANTONIO - The Federal Emergency Management Agency shared that hundreds of Southside homes are located on a floodplain and could be in danger. The city is giving these residents the option to relocate and San Antonio Public Works assures moving expenses would be paid for.There'll be a third party appraisal that that will do as its we do offer," said Assistant Director of Public Works, Robert Reyna. "Like I said, the fair market value based on comparable purchases in the area. And then it also does include the relocation fees as well.
If the project is approved, the expenses will come out of a city bond with one set to be on the ballots in 2027.We don't just, you know, write them a check, and they wish them luck and find any place," said Reyna, "We definitely work with them every step of the way.
