No. 1 San Antonio breakfast spot Bobbie’s Cafe will close its South Side spot on Labor Day, then reopen in a former Magnolia Pancake Haus.

Bobbie’s Cafe , rated San Antonio ’s No. 1 breakfast restaurant by the Express-News , will reopen in its new North Side location Sept. 6. The move will come just days after the restaurant closes its longtime South Side location. Bobbie’s Cafe on South Flores Street will serve its last pancake, omelet and chicken-fried steak on Labor Day . The new location is the former home of The Magnolia Pancake Haus at 606 Embassy Oaks , which moved to North Loop 1604 last year.

All of San Antonio’s Top 10 restaurants They chose the much larger Embassy Oaks location to relieve the waits at the South Side location, which can stretch to two hours on the weekend, she said. They plan to add beer, wine and mimosas to the menu at the new location, where they’ll stay open 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. Plans are already in place to re-establish a Bobbie’s Cafe foothold on the South Side by the end of the year.
