Team USA Chef Stefani De Palma won first place at the Bocuse d’Or Americas competition in New Orleans on June 13, 2024. Longtime San Diegan Stefani De Palma, who worked her way up from pastry chef to chef de cuisine at Michelin three-star Addison restaurant, won first place Thursday at the prestigious Bocuse d’Or Americas cooking competition in New Orleans.
De Palma’s first-place finish sets her up as a strong contender at the finals. In the 36-year history of the Bocuse d’Or, Team USA has only won the gold statue once, in 2017. According to the final scores, Team USA earned a combined 688 points for their themed tasting plate and platter and from the kitchen jury. Canada came in second with 676 points, followed by Mexico, Chile and Colombia.
