The first incident was reported on April 7 at 2:30 a.m. in the Ridgeview neighborhood. The most recent incident happened on April 14 at 8:40 p.m. in North Park.
Linda Gale lives in the Ridgeview neighborhood and says at 2:30 a.m. last week her doorbell camera alerted her on her phone that someone was there.
“He said he wanted money. That his son was at UCSD at the hospital. That he didn't have the money to get there. That he’d asked other neighbors and names off names that aren’t our neighbors," she said.She shut the door, deadbolted it, and called 9-1-1. Gale posted a video and picture of the man on NextDoor to warn neighbors. On April 14 at 8:40 p.m. in North Park, two women said the man showed up again.
She says he told them his son was in the hospital and he needed $19.50 to pay the cab driver because his debit card didn’t work. The woman’s dog started barking and the man left.
