The Jacksonville Transportation Authority provided San Pablo Road residents with an update Wednesday on a construction project that neighbors said has caused traffic nightmares and safety concerns.

We’ve begun the shifting of traffic onto the new pavement in the south,” William Joyce, assistant vice president of construction and capital programs with JTA said.JTA said traffic shifts near Alimacani Elementary School and River City Science Academy will happen during summer break. Joyce explained what people can expect from construction in the coming months.
Nicole Szarlan, who lives off of Ibis Point, which is about a mile from Alimacani Elementary, feels once the improvements are finished the traffic will continue to be an ongoing issue.
