A sanctuary has described the ‘ticking time bomb’ of having mere months to find a new home for dozens of animals. The Pennine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in West Yorkshire has been given notice by their landlord to vacate their current site by February.

‘I can get support from organisations if we can get a space, but we just need to own a piece of land to make that happen.’Sue hopes to find 3-5 acres of land to buy that is within a 15-mile radius of Todmorden so that the sanctuary can continue to support their community. PAWS has been in existence since 2007 and operates within the Calder Valley, Rochdale, Burnley and Halifax areas offering a second chance to unwanted cats andThey’ve received an influx of animals as a result of the living cost crisis, so much so that they’re in the process of launching a foodbank for pets.
