Several of the migrants were hospitalized to be treated for heat-related ailments.
SAN ANTONIO — A dog living on a south-side property with a history of calls for aggressive behavior was shot and killed by a San Antonio police officer when officials say it lunged at him as he was trying to enter his patrol car.
Police say they initially responded to the home on Thursday after two adults were bitten, resulting in"mild injuries." An officer"discharged his weapon in self-defense" at that point too, according to authorities, but no animals were hit. ACS eventually arrived, but the dogs were back on their property, preventing animal control officers from taking them.
Police say they know who the dogs' owner is, but they haven't been found yet. It's unknown what charges officials may pursue if they're taken into custody.
