The Duchess was on the show to discuss her new novel

She was a surprising guest for The One Show, but on Monday, March 27, Sarah Ferguson took her seat on the green sofa of the BBC show. Even more surprisingly, she opened up on her relationship with the late Queen.

As Sarah spoke to presenters Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas, Alex asked: "Since we last saw you we've lost Her Majesty The Queen but you have gained the Corgis." Laughing at the comment, Sarah said: "Yes and because they are national treasures, I am terrified when they go out running. They chase everything, straight into trees, bang! I go 'no, no the nation loves you, stop chasing the squirrels'.

She went on: "But yet how exciting it is as we move on to a new monarch and the coronation. I think it is so important for the whole country to unite and uphold the values for the 72 years that the monarch gave us all really."
