Following her impressive run on 'Strictly Come Dancing', Sarah Hadland shares the personal growth and insights she gained from the experience, particularly highlighting her professional partner Vito Coppola's unwavering belief in her capabilities. Hadland candidly discusses the challenges she faced, her initial self-doubt, and how Coppola's encouragement helped her push beyond her perceived limitations. She emphasizes the importance of embracing vulnerability, trying new things, and not allowing age to define one's potential.
Following her participation in Strictly Come Dancing , Sarah Hadland has opened up about her experience with professional partner Vito Coppola . In an interview with the Mirror, she candidly discussed the challenges and triumphs they faced together. She revealed, 'It's one thing for other people to say, 'Are you really going to do that? Aren't you a bit old?' What's worse is when you yourself think, 'Yeah, I am'. It's like, no! Vito wouldn't accept that from me.
It did cause friction at times because I'd say, 'I can't do it', and I'd get annoyed when he'd tell me to try it anyway... and then I'd do it.'Hadland expressed deep gratitude for Coppola's unwavering belief in her abilities, stating, 'And I'm so grateful to him for that, for his perseverance – for his rock solid belief in me, telling me not to limit myself. Sometimes I'd feel frightened that Vito believed in me. I thought, 'I'm gonna let you down'. I think as women you often have that self-doubt. But now I don't let it stop me.'The 53-year-old single mother shared her newfound perspective on life and limitations, saying, 'What Strictly made me realise is you get to a point in life and you have your values, your morals and certain things born out of experience. But you haven't reached the limit of your experience. So how can you limit yourself from trying things just because you fear you might not be able to do it? Because, what if you can?' She continued, 'It's the confidence to say it's good to be vulnerable and open to trying. To just try, and see what happens when you do. That's what I'd want to encourage others to do – to not put a ceiling on what you can achieve, at whatever age. Now I reframe 'I can't' as 'I can't... yet'. Because I won't know if I don't try. And that's quite a powerful feeling.'Hadland and Coppola's strong bond both on and off the dance floor played a crucial role in their success, leading them to the final of last month's competition. While competing against notable figures like Chris McCausland, Tasha Ghouri, and JB Gill, Hadland remained confident about their journey. Known for her comedic roles in shows like 'Miranda' alongside best friend Miranda Hart, Hadland's participation in 'Strictly Come Dancing' was met with enthusiasm. Her partnership with the Italian professional dancer showcased their shared sense of fun and dedication. During an exclusive photoshoot with OK! magazine in November, the pair discussed their experience, with Hadland describing it as 'surreal'. She compared the whirlwind experience to being on a 'speeding train', stating, 'Sometimes, you want to get off, have a cup of tea and a lie-down, but you wouldn’t dream of it, because it’s so thrilling you don’t want it to end. It feels like a fairy tale. Everything else will feel like black and white after this.
