Saraland quarterback and 4-star Texas commit KJ Lacey was selected for the prestigious 2024 Elite 11 list after three days of work with 20 of the most highly touted rising senior quarterbacks in the nation this week in Los Angeles.Lacey and Russell were joined on the final 11 by Trammell Jones Jr.
According to On3, the two-time, first-team Class 6A All-State selection “showed some of the quickest and most coordinated feet” of the week. On3 reported that Lacey was able to get good depth on his drops and moved well in outside-the-pocket scenarios. The 20 quarterbacks this week participated in on-field drills, classroom instruction and off-field development.
Lacey, who has been committed to Texas for more than a year, left Los Angeles to take his official visit to Austin this weekend.In 2023, Lacey completed 70 percent of his passes for 3,448 yards and 42 touchdowns in helping the Spartans back to the Class 6A title game.
