It is an easy way to 'jazz up' your sausage sandwich
Sausage sandwiches are a tasty way to start the day or enjoy at lunchtime. Whether you fry, grill or air fry your sausages, there are many ways to make the simple sandwich.
You can also take it as it is, or lather it in ketchup or brown sauce. However, if you want to make your sausage sandwiches extra tasty and juicy, there is an easy addition. Simply adding soy sauce, honey and wholegrain mustard can transform the humble sandwich. It will add even more flavour to your sausages without much more effort.
BBC Good Food has a sticky sausage recipe that can be cooked in just 30 minutes and makes eight sandwiches. It said: "Jazz up your bangers with a sweet honey mustard and soy glaze and serve in a French stick sandwich with salad.
" You don't need many more ingredients compared to making a traditional sausage sandwich, but the taste will be very different. Home cooks who have tried out the recipe for themselves have been impressed. One said: "Delish!!!! tastes so much complex than it looks!!
" Another added: "Really nice, will do again. " Someone else commented: "Thought these were really nice. Will make again. Bet they'll taste even better in the summer on the BBQ mmmmmm!!
" Sticky sausage sandwich recipe Ingredients Method Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C Fan/Gas 6. Toss the sausages in oil in a roasting tin. Put in the oven for 20 minutes until browned. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey and mustard together.
Remove the sausages from the oven and drain the fat. Pour over most of the soy sauce mix and make sure the sausages are thoroughly coated. Return the tray to the oven for 10 minutes until sticky. Once cooked, serve in baguettes with salad leaves and the remaining soy sauce mix.
