The elderly man and woman attempted to withdraw money so the notes could be 'seized by police for fingerprint testing' - but bank workers stepped in and alerted officers.
Scots are being warned to be vigilant after two pensioners were targeted by financial scammers pretending to be police officers.

“If you receive a call of this nature it is vital you make sure the caller is genuine, and if you are in any doubt whatsoever, hang up and use the official phone number for the organisation to call back. If the caller is genuine, they will understand your hesitation, and please don’t feel pressured into handing over details or withdrawing money.
