Tropical Storm Alberto will continue west and weaken over Mexico, but peripheral storms and rain remain possible over South Texas.
While Tropical Storm Alberto may not have resulted in as much rain as initially expected in San Antonio , the storm did provide 0.67 inch of rain on Wednesday while also giving the Alamo City a break from the intense summer heat. On Thursday, Alberto will continue to move west over northern Mexico , weakening as it encounters rough terrain. While most of the moisture will move away from South Texas , San Antonio could still experience a few scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.
Additional rainfall accumulations will be light, with most areas picking up less than a quarter-inch of rain Thursday. Under the strongest thunderstorms, a few isolated areas could see up to a half-inch of rainfall. Extended forecast Although temperatures will continue to heat up late this week and into the weekend, we’re not expecting any intense triple-digit temperatures. On Friday, morning temperatures in the mid-70s will transition to afternoon readings in the low 90s.
