Existing buildings set to be bulldozed to make way for development
A development of 57 green homes which will comply with up-to-date building regulations over wheelchair access has been welcomed. Councillors on Trafford’s planning committee unanimously approved Eccleston Homes Ltd’s plan, which will include the demolition of existing buildings on land off Barton Road, Davyhulme, on the fringes of Broadway Park.
The committee was told that since February 2023, following the submission of a pre-application enquiry, officers had been working with Eccleston and a newly appointed planning architectural and landscape team in an attempt to address previous concerns and to ‘secure a more suitable and contextual design’ for the site.Residential units will comprise 38 houses including terraces, semi-detached, detached and townhouses and 19 apartments with up to four bedrooms.
However, he was told that before any ‘gating’ could take place there would need to be a further planning application which was unlikely to succeed.
