A Schertz teenager drowned in Canyon Lake on Monday, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the second death at the lake in less than two months. Alek Johnson , 18, was found by a Canyon Lake Fire & EMS dive team in about eight feet of water near Boat Ramp 3 , TPWD said in a written statement. The ramp is on the lake’s south side and is part of Comal Park , which is operated by the Water-Oriented Recreation District of Comal County .

Texas Game Wardens, Comal County constables and the Comal County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the call. CPR was performed and Johnson was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the department said. He’s the second person to drown at the lake this year.
