Scholastic, the world’s largest publisher and distributor of children’s books, recently made the decision to separate books with LGBTQ themes and discussions of race in a special section during their popular elementary school book fairs.Librarians have been reporting that when ordering books for this fall’s fairs, they were given the option to “opt in” to offer books with LGBTQ+ themes and “diverse” storylines.
