The Premier League title race is expected to be as keenly contested as ever, though Manchester City and Arsenal are the frontrunners heading into the new season
The Gunners have been narrowly edged out by Pep Guardiola for two consecutive years, and are expected to mount a third successive title challenge in the 2024/25 season. They've signed Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna, and are reportedly looking to bring in a midfielder and a forward before the window shuts.
" I've said a few times that I expect Arsenal to be the team to win it this year. They've progressed over the last couple of years with Mikel Arteta and I just think this year is the time where they're ready to win it. It's not going to be easy, there's going to be a lot of competition. He has a point, as since Arteta took over in December 2019, Arsenal have shown consistent improvement year after year. They ended the 2019/20 season with 56 points, increased to 61 points in 2020/21, and reached 69 in 2021/22.
