The collision took place this morning, with the woman said to have suffered 'major trauma-related injuries'.
A woman was rushed to hospital and around 50 others, believed to be schoolkids, are being assessed after a school bus overturned this morning.
Merseyside police said the school coach hit a reservation and overturned. It's understood pupils from both Calday Grange Grammar School and West Kirby Grammar are involved. The fire service confirmed that there are "a number of causalities". "There are also nearly 50 other patients being assessed at the scene. We are working closely with our incident partners to convey people away from the scene as quickly as possible."
"North West Ambulance and Merseyside Police are also in attendance. The incident is ongoing and the carriageway will remain closed for some time." "Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes, and we advise people to remain patient while the incident is ongoing. Enquiries are ongoing and updates will be issued as soon as possible.
"We're actively gathering details and assisting affected students and their families. Support is available. If you need to talk or seek guidance, please reach out to our teaching and pastoral teams."
