Our Lady and St Edward's Catholic Primary School in Preston, Stalmine Primary School in Poulton-le-Fylde, and Holy Cross Catholic High School in Chorley are shut on Monday, December 12
At least five schools in Lancashire has been forced to close today as the bitterly cold weather causes disruption across the county.
"Therefore in consultation with our Chair of Governors this morning we have have closed school for today to be reviewed in the morning. The safety of our pupils, their families and our staff are our main priority."Our Lady and St Edward's Catholic Primary School in Preston has also been forced to shut today due to 'no heating'. They state: "We had problems with our boilers last week and Ash Integrated Services came to fix them.
Holy Cross Catholic High School in Chorley is also shut for all pupils today due to the 'adverse weather'. They said: "Holy Cross is situated at the top of a hill. Following snowfall over the weekend and then freezing conditions staff have not been able to drive their cars onto the site and the school buses wouldn't have been able to drop the pupils off."
All other schools across Lancashire so far remain open as normal, but students are urged to take care due to weather conditions. QEGS Blackburn said: "School is open as normal today. Please can we ask that all pupils, students and staff take care this morning making their way into school and that appropriate footwear is worn.Blackburn Central High School said: "Blackburn Central High School is open as normal today.
