The failure to fix dangerous concrete in school classrooms was today laid at Rishi Sunak’ s door after he was accused of cutting spending on school repairs when he was Chancellor of the Exchequer.
The Prime Minister insisted that was “completely and utterly wrong” – and claimed the majority of schools were unaffected. But a sweary outburst from the Education Secretary Gillian Keegan revealed ministers’ frustration that they are being blamed for shut classrooms.
