Andrea Seed, a 41-year-old from Lancashire, is preparing to compete in the Official Strongman Games in America next month, aiming for the World's Strongest Woman title. Seed, who was named 'Britain's Strongest Natural Woman' in 2021 and came fourth in Europe's Strongest Woman competition earlier this year, began weightlifting after struggling with post-natal depression.

A mum who "always skipped PE at school" is now aiming for the World's Strongest Woman title and wants to inspire others that they "can be whatever you want to be".

"I felt like I just didn’t really know myself, I'd lost myself a little bit," she said. "Then someone I know told me about a strong man gym in Preston. That's followed by the Jocko fuel car walk in which she will have to carry the frame of a car on her back along a 15 metre course as fast as possible. There's a 60 second time limit and the car weighs a massive 280 kilos.
