The Boys’ U16 Schools’ Cup is now the largest football competition of its kind in Northern Ireland
More schools than ever have registered for Danske Bank boys’ and girls’ U18 and U16 schools’ cup competitions with the Northern Ireland Schools’ Football Association.It’s a testament to the growing enthusiasm for the competition among teachers and pupils across Northern Ireland, according to Robert McVeigh, the chairman of NISFA."I am pleased that Danske Bank is expanding its interest in schools' football by adding the U16 boys’ competition to its sponsorship," he said.
“We would like to thank Danske Bank for its continued support. With a focus on nurturing talent, promoting teamwork and instilling a sense of sportsmanship, these competitions have become a cornerstone for young athletes to showcase their skills and passion for the game," he added. The launch of the 2023-24 competitions was held at Dungannon Integrated College with captains from the school’s teams. Earlier this year the school won the U18 Schools’ Cup for the very first time.
