"She did lose her dad when she was 2 years old to the first pandemic. But she survived the first and the second. Two world wars, the coming down of the Wall, so many iconic moments in history," said Mary's granddaughter Melissa Longazel. "She was the best cook, and she would can, and she would freeze stuff. Her garden was beautiful, and she had both a vegetable and a flower garden. It was like something out of Better Homes and Garden," Longazel added."I think her good heart—she's kind to everybody, and she's just a wonderful person," said fellow resident Margaret Desmedt.
