A Scottish amateur photographer captured a 'fogbow' - a rare phenomenon similar to a rainbow
Angela Fitzpatrick took hundreds of snaps of an "aurora arc", as well as a rare "fogbow". The amateur photographer journeyed to Duck Bay at Loch Lomond on November 3 to capture the beautiful shots. While Angela is an "aurora hunter", the "star of the show" in the shots is the fogbow.
A fogbow is a similar phenomenon to a rainbow, and is in fact often called a 'white rainbow'. It is formed when sunlight interacts with water droplets contained in fog.Angela shared the incredible pics with the Scotland From the Roadside group on Facebook. She wrote: "Images taken of a rare fogbow forming over Loch Lomond, covering up Ben Lomond and the weak Aurora Arc .
"We sat and watched this happen and it was so incredible. The fog then disappears to see Aurora still there." Since being posted, the pictures have received dozens of likes. Other members of the group were quick to share their thoughts "wonderful snaps" in the comments."Spectacular," a second posted, while a third commented: "That’s amazing.
