The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Man United after playing just nine minutes of first-team football so far this season.
Scotland manager Steve Clarke has addressed Scott McTominay's lack of first-team minutes amid transfer speculation surrounding the Manchester United midfielder.
On Monday, McTominay was named in the Scotland squad for the upcoming international break, where they face Cyprus and England. And Clarke believes the midfielder will be ready to feature despite not getting the minutes he'd want at club level."Scott’s a terrific professional," Clarke said at a press conference after the announcement. "I’m sure he has been working hard over the course of pre-season.
"If players want to phone me, and some of them do, for advice then that’s fine," Clarke added. "If they want to go and do business themselves and turn up where they turn up, then as long as they turn up in a good frame of mind, happy with where they are at with their club and ready to do the business for Scotland then I am comfortable with that.
