The Met Office has issued a yellow thunderstorm warning across much of the UK with harsh conditions potentially resulting in "flooding and disruption" in some areas.
The yellow warning, which was put in place at 00:00 on Monday, September 1, is set to last until 23:59 this evening and covers the vast majority of Scotland as well as many parts of England and Wales. People have also been urged to brace themselves for frequent lightning strikes and hail and are encouraged to take the appropriate precautionary steps to stay safe.
Road cancellations and delays to public transport routes are likely to occur in the event of flooding or lightning strikes. Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions and timetables and amending your travel plans if necessary.
