The Tartan Army better leave the fresh produce at home as UEFA outlines prohibited stadium items for Germany.

We're not exactly a nation known for eating clean, but Scotland fans heading to Germany this summer have been told they risk being booted out of stadiums if caught with FRUIT.

Steve Clarke's men take centre stage on Friday June 14 as we open the whole show against the Euro 2024 hosts in Munich. Then it's showdowns with Hungary and Switzerland to try and make history by becoming the first ever Scots squad to make it to the knockout stage of a major tournament. And the Tartan Army are set to travel in greater numbers than ever before, with up to 500,000 thousand fans from Britain expected to make the trip.

And while beer will no doubt be the order of the day for thirsty punters lapping up the Euros atmosphere, there are restrictions on what snacks they will be permitted to take into grounds in order to provide a bit of soakage during the 90 minutes. Fruit is considered contraband by our UEFA overlords, with their rules stating that "liquids - drinks, e-cigarette refills, etc. - and food of any kind, including fruit, such as apples, bananas, oranges, etc.

Instead, fans can tuck into famed local delicacies bratwurst and frankfurters - big sausages, in other words - which will set them back a fairly reasonable £3.77. However, if Steve and the boys go all the way to the final in Berlin, then expect a price hike to £4.77. Searches will be conducted as fans enter stadiums before kick-off. And anyone found trying to smuggle in banned items - be it a vape or a nice Granny Smith apple - can be hit with "expulsion from the stadium with a report to the police or a stadium ban for the whole or part of Euro 2024."
