Scotland left in state of 'Brexit limbo' as poll finds public turning against EU departure

The SNP has warned Scotland is stuck in a state of "Brexit limbo" as a new poll suggested the public has turned against leaving the EU. A survey by Opinium found 57 per cent of voters across the UK believed that Brexit was causing more problems than it solved.

Alyn Smith, the SNP spokesman on Europe, said the poll was a "reality check" for Westminster parties and urged them to start planning to rejoin the EU. "This poll should serve as a reality check for the Westminster parties and serve as an opportunity to move forward with a plan to rejoin the EU. Instead it’s more likely to entrench even further their out of touch stance, demonstrating yet again that Scotland can only return to the EU with the full powers of independence."
