One Scottish beach has been named as the best in the country — and one of the best in the UK — for surfing, based on factors such as surfer ratings, water cleanliness, and accessibility.

With summer finally upon us, Scots up and down the country will be ready to rush to the nearest beach as soon as the weather turns sunny. Depending on what you are looking for, though, some beaches are definitely better than others.

Fraserburgh Beach, which is beloved by locals and visitors alike for its long stretches of sand and sweeping views, placed sixth on D-Robe's list of the top 10 UK surfing destinations. It was lauded for the quality of its water, as well as its overall cleanliness. Meanwhile, coming in at number one as the UK's top surfing destination is Westward Ho in Devon. Narrowly edging out Croyde, also in Devon, for the title, Westward Ho is a popular family holiday destination that offers facilities such as toilets and a range of food outlets.

D-Robe spokesperson Matt Salkeld commented: "It's incredible the number of surf-ready beaches that we're privileged to have access to here in the UK. From families to friend groups; professionals to beginners, there's something for everyone in our top 10 list of British surfing coastlines.
