The best fish and chip shops in Scotland have been named, with the nominees for the the 2025 National Fish and Chip Awards being revealed — including six chippies in Aberdeenshire.

Elsewhere, chippies from all over the country are represented in the top 10. Rounding out the Scottish nominees are The Fish Works in Largs, The Wee Chippy in Anstruther, McKays Fish & Chip Shop in Pitlochry, and Hilton Chip Shop in Inverness. President of the National Federation of Fish Friers Andrew Crook commented: "Fish and chips is such an iconic British staple and it takes huge amounts of skill and hard work to not only perfect the dish and other menu offerings but to also overcome challenges and sustain the business while keeping employees motivated and fulfilled.
