New research has revealed the cities with the top entry-level salaries in the UK, with only one Scottish city appearing on the list — and it is neither Edinburgh or Glasgow.
When choosing where to live for work, one of the biggest factors that comes into play is how much money you can expect to be paid. A new study by BusinessFinancing.co.uk has revealed that neither Edinburgh nor Glasgow are among the best cities for entry-level salaries.
The overall median salary in Dundee was found to be £29,997. However, more than two-fifths of new entrant roles are paid above this rate. Dundee is the only Scottish destination to appear in the top 10 cities for entry-level salaries. Following behind in second place is Nottingham, with Birmingham, Bradford, and Lincoln rounding out the top five.
"But how do you put a price on new talent — particularly when the company must pay for training a young professional who may end up moving elsewhere to further their career? It isn’t an easy balance to find.
