The train operator is operating additional late-night weekend services on key routes, as well as adding extra carriages to trains across Scotland at the weekend, right up until Christmas.
ScotRail has added extra services and more seats to trains across the country in the lead up to Christmas .
With the festive season getting into full swing, extra late-night trains will support the night-time economy, with longer trains catering to customers taking in the city Christmas markets, and shopping trips on the busy high streets.ScotRail will also make changes to its timetable on Sunday, December 15. Most of the changes are minor, however customers are encouraged to check their regular journeys in advance to confirm departure times.
The train operator has also released information on services over Christmas and New Year. The last trains of the day will depart earlier than normal on both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and there will be changes to train times over the Christmas and New Year period.Details of the changes over Christmas and New Year can be found on the ScotRail website.
“Whether customers are heading to the Christmas markets, a night out, or just picking up presents, we hope they have a wonderful time.“We’ll be making changes to our timetable on 15 December, and additional changes during the Christmas period, including services winding down early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.”
