As RMT workers from Network Rail take part in two 48-hour strikes this week,ScotRail organised a skeleton service over 12 routes and the same limited timetable was planned for Thursday, January 5 even though it is not a strike day.David Simpson, ScotRail's service delivery director, said: “We have worked really hard to add more services to the timetable for Thursday.
“The widespread disruption across the whole Great Britain rail network as a result of the dispute between Network Rail and the RMT is really disappointing coming at a time when we need to be encouraging more people back to the railway.” The train operator will now run the following routes, in addition to the services being run this week:
