The Open Championships is taking place at Royal Troon, while Rangers clash with Manchester United at Murrayfield for a showpiece pre-season friendly on Saturday.

ScotRail has issued travel advice ahead of two major sporting events taking place across the country.

Meanwhile, 57,900 football fans are set to head to Edinburgh to see Philippe Clement's side take on Manchester United at 4pm on Saturday. And ScotRail are warning that services in the capital will be much busier than usual, with commuters not attending the match, being told to consider travelling at quieter times.

As a result services are set to be cut across two the days, with some routes cancelled altogether with no replacement bus service available.
