Scots bagpiping legend dies suddenly as loved ones say 'hearts are broken worldwide'
Dozens of heartfelt tributes have poured in for a Scots bagpiping legend who has sadly died aged just 47. John Elliott, also known as Jock, passed away on April 20 sending shockwaves through the global piping community.
Paying tribute to the premier reed and chanter maker, Finlay MacDonald, Director of Piping at The National Piping Centre remarked on John's amazing contributions. “The thoughts and condolences from the team at The National Piping Centre go to John’s immediate family in their time of need.” “John, or Jock as many knew him, has been a member of the band since 2013 and together we created and shared the most special of memories and times together.
