A 57-year-old man has been charged after the vehicle was search at Cairnryan on Thursday, September 7.
Officers searched the lorry at Loch Ryan Port in Cairnryan at around 10pm on Thursday, September, 7, and recovered around 33kg of cannabis and 5kg of cocaine.
Police confirmed that a 57-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the 'significant recovery' and is now due to appear at Stranraer Sheriff Court on Monday, 11 September, 2023. Detective Inspector Graeme Robertson, Dumfries and Galloway Division CID, said: “This is a significant recovery, and represents joint working between Dumfries CID and officers at Loch Ryan Port, part of Border Policing Command.
“Police Scotland is committed to removing illegal substances from our communities and will take all measures to disrupt those involved.” “Anyone with concerns about drugs in their community can contact Police Scotland via 101, or calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
