Ewan Dillon pleaded guilty to a single charge and resigned from Stirling Council on Monday.
Ewan Dillon, 21, appeared at Stirling Sheriff Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to a single charge under the Civic Government Act 1982 which bans the “taking or making of any indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph” of children - the offence commonly known as downloading.
At a previous court appearance in March, where he pleaded not guilty, solicitor-advocate George Pollock, for Dillon, said “the crux of the matter” was how the images in question “ended up on the computer”. “Dunblane and Bridge of Allan have been denied effective democratic representation. He has cost the taxpayers of Stirling a year and a half of claimed wages - plus the public purse an inordinate amount of court and legal fees - whilst knowing he was guilty.“Truly shameful and unprincipled from someone elected to a position of trust and responsibility.”
He was elected as Labour councillor in May 2022 at the age of 19 and later switched to being an independent member in October of that year.
