Mary Anderson, 67, and husband Hugh, 66, forked out £29,000 for their family to go on a trip of a lifetime to The Grove Resort Waterpark in Orlando.
A Scots family's dream holiday to a luxury resort in Florida was left "ruined" after their trip was plagued by bed bugs, mould and blood-soiled mattresses.
Mary, from Kilwinning in North Ayrshire, told the Record: "It was disgusting. When we arrived we found dirty beds, human hair everywhere, mould in all the bathrooms and filthy showers. The family were forced to spend the remainder of their two-week holiday at The Grove Resort Waterpark, where two of her grandchildren were mauled by bed bugs.
"My husband doesn't show very much emotion but because it was supposed to be such a special holiday, you could see he was clearly upset and disappointed. It ruined what was meant to be a holiday of a lifetime for us all, it just wasn't what we paid for."
