Ann Kelsey Walker, 60, accidentally contacted a fake Air Transat Facebook account set up by the crook when trying to claim back for an unneeded suitcase for a trip to Canada.
Ann Kelsey Walker, from East Kilbride, had initially thought she was speaking to an Air Transat Facebook page when she was trying to claim back a payment for a suitcase following a trip to Canada.
Ann, 60, said: "The scam was very plausible at first. I had paid for an extra suitcase by accident and I was trying to get the money back, so I googled Air Transat and this profile came up. The twisted crook told Ann: "Both my parents died in the Ukraine Russian war. I have young brothers and a sister I take care of."I started scamming after the deaths of both my parents. It is not my intention to do this but I need to.
