Chris Thomson from Dumfries and Galloway is aiming to run 32 ultramarathons in all 32 council areas of Scotland within 32 days to honor his friend who died by suicide. He will run 33 miles every day until July 6, marking each year of his friend's life.

A Scots man is set to break an ultramarathon world record in memory of his late friend who died by suicide.

The adventurer will put his best foot forward from June 5 in a touching tribute to his friend, who tragically took his own life after battling mental health difficulties. Chris, who has left behind his corporate career to take on the challenge, said: “I'm doing this for all those we've lost to mental health battles and cruel diseases. They may be gone, but their memory will fuel every step of this journey.In total, Chris will cover 1,056 miles in the hope of raising £100,000 for charities such as Movember, Mind, Dementia UK, British Heart Foundation, MNDA, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, and Maggie’s Cancer Care.
