Edward Mochrie landed in Edinburgh on Saturday after visiting his daughter Ruth in Munich.
A 96-year-old pensioner disembarked from a flight to Edinburgh on his own after waiting nearly 40 minutes for assistance to arrive.
The pensioner was helped from the airplane through to the terminal and border control before making his way to the pick up point where a "worried" neighbour had been waiting for him. Ruth has now hit out at the airport, labelling the ordeal "shambolic", "He was able to walk down the steps but it took time. Once he was on the tarmac he had no way to get into the terminal and started wandering before ground staff crew approached him and asked, 'what are you doing'.
They added that they "regret" the fact Edward and his daughter were unhappy with the service and would be willing to discuss the matter further. Ruth said: "He has been saying for 10 years that this will be the last time he flies out to see me but I think after this it actually will be. It has probably put him off for good.
