A brother and sister rescued the elderly woman as flames ripped through the property.
Emergency crews were alerted to the incident at Main Street in Holytown, Lanarkshire, at around 7:28pm last night, Saturday, November 23. An elderly woman was transported to hospital and is believed to be suffering from shock.
"We didn't think much and just ran over to help. Scott was asking if anyone was inside but they weren't sure so I ran around the back door and shouted inside. "Her family have reached out and told me she is still in hospital suffering from shock but is doing well. However, the family cat is missing and everyone is desperate to find it."
