A marine life rescue charity thanked a team of locals for their life-saving work before British Divers Marine Life Rescue medics arrived.
The mammals washed up on the sand in the Bay of Tuquoy, near Westray on Friday evening.
A statement on the British Divers Marine Life Rescue Orkney Facebook page. It read: "BDMLR Orkney were alerted to three Risso's dolphins caught in the Bay of Tuquoy Westray on Friday evening. "Medics and residents did a fabulous job getting the animals back in the water and out to sea. A check of the area this morning has found no sign of the dolphins so it is hoped that they have successfully headed out to deeper water.
