Billy Gilmour has revealed that Napoli boss Antonio Conte is personally helping him to learn Italian.
Gilmour, 23, knows it will take time to learn the lingo in Serie A but hopes he will get there with Conte's backing. Speaking to DAZN, he said: "I am fit and well, I’m enjoying it. Of course, we are doing well as a team, so we want to keep building on that. The coach has been really good. Of course, I don’t speak Italian yet, and I need to learn, but he’s been helping me in training.
Napoli's five-game winning streak in Serie A came crashing down with a 3-0 home defeat to Napoli, with both Gilmour and McTominay included by Conte from the start. However, the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona side remain three points clear of nearest rivals Atalanta at the top of the table after the first 11 matches.
