A series of Scottish Government papers aimed at selling the benefits of independence have contained "nothing very new", a former Yes campaign chief has said.

But he said recent publications had offered little new material compared to the original white paper on independence published in November 2013. Yousaf has continued the publications since he became First Minister in March, with the most recent looking at plans for citizenship and passports in an independent Scotland.Canavan said: "There is nothing very new in the recent Scottish Government papers, compared with the white paper which was published in advance of the 2014 referendum.
