A beautiful, remote Scottish island has gone on sale with its very own farmhouse, castle, woodland and beaches, and it will set you back a relatively modest £1.5 million.
To be fair, it is a Grade-II listed studio flat in a historic building, a stone's throw from Buckingham Palace, but still. For the same price, you could also buy Torsa island in Argyll, a stunning 270 acre mini-estate with its own well-appointed, three bedroom farmhouse, as well as a ruined castle and extensive beaches.
Sheikh Yasser al-Habib was planning to buy Torsa in Argyll to make his own Sharia law-based Islamic "homeland", the BBC reported. In fact, the Torsa island website even makes it clear that "contrary to recent press articles regarding Torsa, the sale of the island is not at an advanced stage with any buyer. Rather, the island remains for sale and continues to attract widespread attention.
